I Will Work 100% Round The Clock To Address Challenges Facing ICT In Nigeria– Pantami

The Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, who doubles as the Chief ICT Policy Maker of Nigeria, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami has vowed to work 100% round the clock to address other challenges facing the ICT Sector while in office, following the recent success recorded in addressing the Right of Way (RoW) Challenges that the country has been battling with for years in which the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) have agreed to honour the 2013 resolution reached by the National Economic Council (NEC) of N145 per linear meter of fibre.

Pantami made his stand known today while addressing the top Management team of Phase3 Telecom Ltd who paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry’s Corporate Headquarters, Abuja.

The Minister also reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to improve broadband penetration across Nigeria and also bridge the access gap hampering internet connectivity, asserting that, “the Federal Government means business. Our target is to ensure we achieve a minimum of 70% broadband penetration by the year 2025”.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman, Phase3 Telecom Ltd, Mr Stanley Jegede commended the Honourable Minister for his wisdom in redirecting the focus of the Ministry to promote a digital economy for digital Nigeria.

The Chairman also used the opportunity to introduce the board and top management staff of the company to the Honourable Minister.
